Embark on the most iconic adventure in Costa Rica. Our journey takes you deep into the heart of the Tenorio Volcano National Park, home to one of the seven natural wonders of the country. This Rio Celeste hike from La Fortuna is designed for those who don’t just want to see the blue river from afar—but want to experience it fully.

What to Expect

The Hike: Explore 6 km (3.7 miles) of lush rainforest trails. We’ll visit the breathtaking Rio Celeste Waterfall (a rewarding 200-step descent) and the “Teñideros,” where two crystal-clear rivers meet to create that unique celestial hue.

The Secret Swim: After the hike, we head to our private river access. Since you can’t swim inside the park, we provide the perfect hidden location to dive into the blue water, take photos, and relax.

Local Culture: We wrap up the adventure with an authentic Costa Rican lunch at a local gem before heading back to your hotel.

What to Bring & Wear

Pro Tip: Bring a waterproof phone case or a dry bag to protect your electronics and capture the best photos by the waterfall and river.

To Wear: Comfortable hiking shoes or sneakers with good grip (crucial for the 200+ stairs), lightweight breathable clothing, and your swimsuit underneath.

In your bag: A towel, a full change of clothes, and a rain poncho or light jacket (the rainforest is unpredictable!).

Essentials: Insect repellent, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle.
