How difficult is the Rio Celeste hike and tubing tour? +
The national park hike is moderate (around 3.5 miles / 5.5 km). The tubing section features Class I-II rapids suitable for beginners, families, and first-time tubers in good physical condition.
What should I wear and bring for hiking and tubing? +
Wear comfortable light clothing or swimwear, along with secure water shoes or trail sneakers. Bring a change of dry clothes, a towel, rain jacket, sunscreen, bug spray, and water.
Can you swim in Rio Celeste during the hike? +
Swimming inside Tenorio Volcano National Park is strictly prohibited. However, you will enjoy full river access and swimming during the river tubing portion outside the national park.
